Beyond the Edge: Reconciliation, Reconnection and Regeneration
NEW BOOK FORTHCOMING, BY ANN DALE
Some people have asked me why my last two books mention the edge in the title. At the edges where two ecosystems meet in nature lie some of the richest biodiversity on the planet, and biodiversity has been one of my greatest passions since I was a little girl. My new book, titled Beyond the Edge: Reconciliation, Reconnection and Regeneration, is an urgent call for action by all Canadians now to meet the climate and biodiversity crises we are facing. It offers solutions we all can take from the smallest (individuals) to the largest (Canadian governments) to act now before it is too late. I strongly believe that these solutions will move us from being at the edge of crisis to far beyond the edge to reconciling, reconnecting with the land and ultimately regenerating ecologically and socially to sustaining our communities everywhere. We have enough science, enough information and enough knowledge to do this now, but we urgently need government leadership to be bold and brave.

The book is also an integration of art and my research over the last 25 years, with each chapter accompanied by an original painting by Nancyanne Cowell, an award of distinction artist known for her powerful atmospheric landscapes. Each painting illuminates the hope found in the solutions presented throughout the book for leaping beyond the edge.
